I feel very lucky to be posted at Battalion Park, and am excited to be teaching in my neighborhood school. It will be such a treat to live and work nearby. I clocked the distance with my friend's pedometer and it is 1.85 kms through the park path, and 1.31 kms. up the stairs through the residential short-cut. I can walk in less than 20 minutes and drive in 3.5 minutes!
I am looking forward to seeing my new classroom and setting it up...also to meet my new students, who will likely be Grade 2, which is my favourite grade! I have been out of the classroom for 2 years going to university, (still a classroom, but as a student instead!). It will be a nice change to finally have students to utilize all the ideas and activities I have...it will be great to be teaching again...5 more weeks...
